Currently a student at the University of North Texas, Callie Willis is pursuing her bachelor's degree in art education with a minor in art history. Additionally, she is currently an officer for the UNT art education pre-service chapter, in which her responsibilities include managing and tracking members' attendance, hosting several events, and running monthly meetings. The majority of her work is created either in her own small studio workspace or in UNT's ceramic facilities.
Growing up in Louisiana, Callie's childhood consisted of the outdoors, hurricanes, and large family gatherings for any occasion. These experiences are what influence her work.

The intent of my work is to explore the experiences and life events that shape who we are as a people, particularly our childhood and memories. Growing up with a large and vibrant family, there were numerous opportunities to create exciting memories that have inspired a majority of my work.
Through experimenting with intricate surface design in my hand-built ceramic work, or the symbolism of my 2D pieces, I aim to offer involvement to the viewer by either physically moving around the piece or conveying a narrative viewers could relate to or place themselves in.
